After Crazy Play! KAC Falls to Bolzano in Top Game
KAC is defeated by a rather efficient HCB. Digiacinto provides a bizarre penalty alongside scoring a goal.
EC KAC suffers a 2:5 home defeat against HC Bolzano in the 15th round of the win2day ICE Hockey League.
The South Tyroleans celebrate a perfect start. Matt Bradley needs just 18 seconds for the opening goal. KAC then wastes three power plays in the first period. On the other hand, Bolzano also misses the second goal on a 5-on-3 power play before the first intermission.
Nevertheless, HCB plays more effectively on the power play. Isaac Ratcliffe extends the lead to 2:0 after a Simovic tripping penalty (28th min./PP1). Shortly thereafter, Cristiano Digiacinto receives a penalty for an overly aggressive body check (30th min.). However, the HCB player immediately causes another penalty with a bizarre action.
Klagenfurt Frustrated by Efficient South Tyroleans
Because the Italian angrily bangs on the penalty box door and receives another penalty. However, this power play by Klagenfurt also remains without a goal. Nevertheless, Jacob Hudson cuts the lead to 1:2 in the middle period (36th min.). Yet before the second intermission siren, Turner Elson capitalizes on a bad KAC line change to make it 3:1 at the break in favor of HCB (38th min.).
On top of that, Elson scores a brace in the third period (49th min.). Florian Vorauer therefore leaves his net early for KAC. Thimo Nickl subsequently scores to make it 2:4 (57th min.), but Digiacinto seals the decision with an empty-net goal (60th min./EN).
Bolzano thus defends the league lead, tied on points with Linz (33 points). KAC has to accept another defeat after two consecutive victories.
