Dominant Victory! Black Wings Continue Their Winning Ways
Linz celebrates their third consecutive win, solidifying their spot among the top teams.
Black Wings Linz celebrate a 6:2 home victory over FTC Budapest in Round 15 of the win2day ICE Hockey League.
The Linz team got off to a lightning start. Luis Lindner scored after 21 seconds to make it 1:0. Also in the first period, Kyle Topping extended the lead to a clear 3:0 during a 5-on-3 power play (11th min./PP2), followed by Shawn St-Amant (19th min.).
The Hungarians then shortened the deficit to 1:3 in the final period after a scoreless middle frame, thanks to Rasmus Heljanko on a power play (43rd min./PP1). However, the Black Wings quickly re-established a comfortable lead after Lindner's second goal (50th min.) and Lucas Erne's goal (51st min.).
Black Wings Secure Seventh Straight Home Win
Even a goal to make it 2:5 by Topi Rönni during another power play was no longer a threat for Linz (53rd min./PP1). Trenton Bliss then sealed the 6:2 final score with an early empty-net goal (54th min./EN).
Thus, Linz extends their winning streak to three consecutive victories. In addition, the "Steel City" team has now celebrated seven straight wins in front of their home fans.
