The Graz99ers still have to wait for their first win after their second game in the Champions Hockey League, as they lost 2-4 at home to France's Boxers Bordeaux after a hard-fought battle.

The Graz team, who had to concede a 2-4 defeat to Swiss top club HC Fribourg-Gottéron in their opener, took the lead in the eighth minute through Jakob Lippitsch, but the French champions turned the game around before the break with a double strike within one minute.

First, Ulysse Tournier equalized (17th minute), only seconds later the puck landed in the 99ers' net again, with Julien Guillaume scoring (17th minute).

Boxers Bordeaux Emerge Victorious

The game developed into a largely even contest, with the home team equalizing again in the 39th minute through Clay Hanus.

Thus, the score was tied heading into the final period, where Boxers Bordeaux ultimately had the better outcome, as Kevin Dusseau scored the go-ahead goal again in the 53rd minute. In the end, the Graz team risked everything again, but the visitors still scored, with Yvan Mongo sealing the deal in the final minute (60th).

The ICE Hockey League champions' next chance for a CHL success will be next Friday (7:30 PM) against Eisbären Berlin.
