Unai Simon is named the best goalkeeper of the tournament; the Athletic Bilbao goalie conceded only once – Charles de Ketelaere beat him during the 2-1 victory in the quarter-finals against Belgium.

He set a new record with 649 World Cup minutes without conceding a goal.

Pau Cubarsi is the Youngster of the World Cup.

The FC Barcelona center-back was, alongside veteran Aymeric Laporte, the defensive linchpin and is already a World Champion and Olympic gold medalist at 19 years old.
