In the match against Paraguay, Kylian Mbappé once again became the match-winner for France with his penalty goal. The South Americans once again showed strong fighting spirit, but there was nothing to gain against the 2022 vice-world champions.

On the pitch, Paraguay's players had already crossed the line once or twice, but what Paraguayan Senator Celeste Amarilla de Boccia wrote about Kylian Mbappé on X went far beyond that.

She racially abused the French superstar: "Instead of mother's milk, he sucked coconuts, and the most educated thing he ever heard was chimpanzees. You should have given him the middle finger, Orlando Gill. I do that in the Senate too, and absolutely nothing happens!!!"

Call to Violence

Following the match, in which Mbappé had been repeatedly heavily fouled, the Real striker refused to shake hands with Paraguay keeper Orlando Gill and celebrated with a provocative gesture. Gill then threw the ball at Mbappé's back.

On Instagram, the politician followed up with a tirade against Mbappé. She claimed he was a "colonized Cameroonian" playing the tough Frenchman, "full of inferiority complexes, nouveau riche, arrogant, and ugly."

France "only won with a lot of luck," and the only thing one could reproach the Albirroja for was "not giving him (Note: Mbappé) a resounding slap after the final whistle," according to the politician.

Mbappé Reacts to "Shameless Racism"

Kylian Mbappé reacted publicly to the statements. In a statement on X, he called the politician a "despicable woman" and said she was unworthy of her office.

"Through your unconsciousness and your shameless racism, the world has already forgotten the historic journey and the commitment of your players during this World Cup, making way for an incompetent lady who conveys the worst possible image of her country," the Real striker continued. He added that he would "never allow people like Celeste Amarilla de Boccia the freedom to spread their hatred and racism in the world."
