Several media outlets reported tragic news on Saturday morning: 25-year-old Jayden Adams, a midfielder for Mamelodi Sundowns, has died.

The players' union SAFPU and individuals close to him confirmed the reports. Adams was part of South Africa's World Cup squad, starting twice in the group stage and coming on as a substitute once.

According to "The Guardian," citing news agency AFP, police are investigating the death of the 25-year-old. The South African medium "Sunday World" reports that Adams is believed to have taken his own life.
