For the first time, more female coaches in England's top flight
In England's top women's league, for the first time in history, more female coaches than male coaches are employed.
Historic milestone in English football!
With the appointment of Eva Olid as head coach of Manchester United, the Women's Super League, England's top flight in women's football, now has more female coaches than male coaches for the first time.
Eight out of a total of 14 clubs employ a female manager. In addition to the Red Devils with Olid, these include Arsenal FC with Renee Slegers, Aston Villa with Natalia Arroyo, Birmingham City with Amy Merricks, Charlton Athletic with Karen Hills, Chelsea FC with Sonia Bompastor, Crystal Palace with Jo Potter, and West Ham United with Rita Guarino.
The English national team is also coached by a woman, Sarina Wiegman.
Two Female Head Coaches in Austria
The situation in Austria is quite different. Eight out of ten ADMIRAL Women's Bundesliga clubs are currently coached by a male coach.
In addition to promoted side Rapid with Katja Gürtler, FC Blau-Weiß Linz with Jasmin Pistonik also employs a female head coach.
