Rapid Women end losing streak in mini Vienna Derby
The Hütteldorfer women even took the lead against Vienna. Despite this, they cannot celebrate a full points haul.
SK Rapid and First Vienna FC 1894 drew 1-1 on the tenth matchday of the ADMIRAL Women's Bundesliga.
After three consecutive defeats – including a 0-6 loss in the derby against Austria – the Green-Whites took the lead against Vienna. Ilvy Taucher scored in the 21st minute to make it 1-0, assisted by Katharina Moser.
Especially towards the end of the first half, the hosts pressed for a 2-0 lead, but it didn't materialize. Instead, Vienna improved after the break and equalized in the 56th minute through Claudia Wasser. The captain deflected a shot, leaving goalkeeper Kayleigh Van Niehoff helpless.
The score remained 1-1. Rapid thus stays in eighth place, while Vienna, with one game more played, remains in seventh.
