On Wednesday, former Austria coach Nenad Bjelica was unveiled as the new head coach of Turkish first-division club Samsunspor (More Info>>>). His son Luka will also follow him there.

The 29-year-old will thus support his father in his new role on the coaching staff, as he did most recently at Trabzonspor and before that at Dinamo Zagreb. Most recently, Luka Bjelica was assistant coach for the amateurs of Austria Klagenfurt in the Unterliga Mitte.

At Samsunspor, the father-son duo faces a real challenge: The club is currently in deep crisis and sits second to last after seven matchdays. Only four points have been collected, and they recently suffered five consecutive defeats. Bjelica's debut will take place on Sunday away against Kasimpasa Istanbul.
