Bitter! Musiala and Havertz leave DFB squad due to injury
Both players were injured on Thursday during Jürgen Klopp's debut. The DFB now provides an update:
One day after the 1-1 draw against the Netherlands in the Nations League, Germany suffers a bitter blow.
Jamal Musiala and Kai Havertz must leave the national team. The former sustained a muscle fiber tear in his right thigh during the warm-up, while Havertz had to be substituted after about 30 minutes. He was diagnosed with a muscle strain.
The DFB has not communicated how long the two will be out. It is confirmed that Florian Wirtz and Jonathan Burkardt will join the squad as replacements.
Jürgen Klopp's team still has matches against Greece (September 27/October 4) and Serbia (October 1) scheduled.
