Kosovo: Ex-LASK Player Retires Before ÖFB Match
The veteran ends his national team career. He currently plays in Switzerland.
For Kosovo national team coach Franco Foda, two special matches are coming up in the current training camp; he gets to compete against his former team, Austria, twice.
For this, the German has already nominated his squad. Captain Amir Rrahmani is not included, having provisionally resigned in protest against the federation president.
Berisha Retires
Furthermore, Franco Foda must accept two more retirements. Zürich player Valon Berisha (33) has ended his national team career. The former Red Bull Salzburg and LASK player has 52 caps for Kosovo. Before that, he played 20 times for Norway; a change was possible due to the team's re-establishment.
In 2016, he scored Kosovo's historic first international goal in a 1-1 draw against Finland. Blau-Weiß assistant coach Sinan Bytyqi was also part of the squad for the country's first international match at that time.
Fidan Altili (32) has also submitted his resignation.
