"It would be a marquee signing": Hierländer back to Carinthia?

Stefan Hierländer recently told the "Kleine Zeitung" that he is "always open for a discussion" regarding his future.

Matthias Dollinger, a member of the management board of Austria Klagenfurt, wants to bring the 35-year-old back to Carinthia. Hierländer was trained in Carinthia and took his first steps in professional football there.

"I told him: 'We can make history. You started here, and now we could finish writing the book,'" Dollinger told the "Kleine Zeitung." Despite Hierländer's retirement after last season, Dollinger believes: "It would be a marquee signing."

Dollinger was captain at Austria Kärnten from 2008 to 2010 and already championed the young Stefan Hierländer back then. "It was a really good and positive conversation; there was no sign of reluctance at all," Dollinger stated positively.

"I want direct promotion to the Bundesliga"

The declared goal of Austria Klagenfurt and investor Helmut Kaltenegger is clearly formulated: "I want direct promotion to the Bundesliga." To achieve this goal, they want to attract five experienced professionals to Carinthia in the winter.

Currently, Austria Klagenfurt is in 1st place in the Regionalliga Süd standings. However, their one-point lead over their closest pursuer, Velden, is only marginal.

In their direct clash against Velden, they drew 2-2 at the beginning of September.
