Lovric Raves About Alaba: "Players, Staff, Club Can Learn"

Between 2013 and 2019, Sandi Lovric wore the jersey for the ÖFB youth selections; since 2020, he has been a senior international for Slovenia.

At club level, the Lienz native has been with Udinese Calcio since 2022 – with the exception of a loan spell at Hellas Verona last season. With David Alaba, he can now welcome a kind of compatriot there.

The signing of the ÖFB captain is "the second most important signing in the club's history," as Udinese insider Alessandro Vescini explained to LAOLA1.

Alaba Transfer a Great Thing for the Entire League

Sandi Lovric also raves about the Viennese's transfer. Speaking with "Sky", he talks about the atmosphere at the club:

"It's a great thing for the entire league and, of course, for our club as well. For a player with such a career and such a name to join us and still have the will to win is certainly something very special for us."

All of Udinese Calcio to Benefit

Lovric believes that not only the team but the club as a whole can benefit from the signing of such a top star:

"He has achieved an incredible amount in his career and can pass on his leadership qualities and his entire experience to us. Added to that are his qualities and his experience in training and in matches. Not only young players, but in my opinion all players in the club, the staff, and ultimately the entire club can benefit and learn from this."

Alaba Accustomed to "Higher Level"

The 28-year-old Slovenian international doesn't think Alaba will take long to get used to the conditions in Serie A:

"I believe he is used to playing at the highest level, even at an even higher one. Therefore, he will probably have few problems adapting to the conditions."

Quiet Environment

The fans will certainly welcome the Austrian with open arms, Lovric is convinced: "The fans are great and extremely closely connected to the club."

One adjustment for the ÖFB star might be that he no longer lives in a European metropolis like Madrid, but in a significantly smaller city.

"It's a small city where almost everyone knows everyone. As a result, the environment is rather quiet and family-like,' said Lovric."
