Confirmed! Leipzig brings back Bundesliga top scorer
The Frenchman was the top scorer in the German top flight four years ago. Now he's returning.
Christopher Nkunku (28) is returning to RB Leipzig.
As the German Bundesliga club reports, the Frenchman is returning for now on loan from AC Milan. RB has also secured a purchase option for the versatile attacking player.
From 2019 to 2023, Nkunku played for the Saxons. In his penultimate season, he even became the Bundesliga's top scorer with 16 goals – incidentally, tied with Niclas Füllkrug, who is also returning on loan to his former club, Werder Bremen, this summer.
Since his departure from Germany, however, things have been less successful for the Frenchman. At Chelsea, he couldn't establish himself – partly due to injuries. Even at AC Milan, he wasn't undisputed.
