Gladbach Coach: Two New Candidates in the Running
The German Bundesliga club is still searching for a new head coach. Now, two coaches who recently lost their jobs have come into focus.
Who will succeed Eugen Polanski and become the new head coach of Borussia Mönchengladbach?
Following Polanski's departure, former Salzburg boss Rouven Schröder is searching for a suitable candidate. On Thursday, he confirmed that he has now narrowed the search down to a "very, very small circle."

"Two to three names" are reportedly still in the running. The "Bild" then suggested two former Bundesliga coaches, Domenico Tedesco and Dino Toppmöller.
Both were only dismissed from their clubs a few days ago. Tedesco had to leave Bologna after a false start, while Toppmöller left Baidoo-club RC Lens in France.
Experience in Germany
A decision will likely be made by the international break at the latest. Recently, LASK's successful coach Didi Kühbauer and former Salzburg assistant Jens Wissing were also considered candidates, but both are reportedly not going to get the job.
Tedesco was active in the Bundesliga with both Schalke 04 and RB Leipzig. Toppmöller was Julian Nagelsmann's assistant coach for years before he coached Eintracht Frankfurt as head coach from 2023 to 2026.
