Ex-LASK Attacker Eyeing PL Deal – Club Sets High Price Tag
There is a lot of interest in the former LASK striker, but his Ligue 2 club is demanding a high sum.
Keito Nakamura played for LASK in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga between 2021 and 2023. The Linz-based club then sold the Japanese player to Reims in Ligue 1 for a reported twelve million euros.
However, the club is now playing in the second tier. Nakamura also impressed last season with 14 goals and two assists in 29 games in Ligue 2. Promotion was not achieved, however.
Strong World Cup Performances
Accordingly, the Japanese player is seeking a move. His performances at the World Cup, in particular, have made him highly sought after. He scored against the Netherlands in the opening 2-2 draw and provided an assist against Tunisia. He was in the starting eleven for every game Japan played.
According to "Foot Mercato", there are also plenty of interested parties. Reims is reportedly willing to sell him, but not at any price. An offer of 18 million euros from an unnamed club was reportedly rejected.
French top club Olympique Marseille is also reportedly interested in the player. It remains questionable whether they will be able to afford him. Reports suggest Reims is demanding at least 25 million euros.
Is Liverpool Next?
Furthermore, various clubs from England are also reportedly interested. Premier League club Everton is specifically mentioned. There is also interest from Besiktas.
Nakamura still has a contract with Reims until 2028.
