Woltemade on the verge of Juventus move – Newcastle unveils replacement
Woltemade's loan to Serie A is nearing completion. Newcastle has already unveiled a new striker.
One year after his move from VfB Stuttgart to Newcastle United, Nick Woltemade is on the verge of another transfer.
According to consistent media reports, the 24-year-old striker is moving to Juventus in Serie A on loan. The loan fee is said to be four million euros. The Italians reportedly have no purchase option.
Newcastle paid 75 million euros for Woltemade a year ago. The German attacker impressed with goals at the beginning of last season but couldn't maintain the good form.
Most Expensive Summer Signing
Newcastle already unveiled a Woltemade replacement on Tuesday. Belgian World Cup player Matias Fernandez-Pardo moved from OSC Lille to the "Magpies" for a reported 60 million euros. This makes him the most expensive of the eight summer arrivals.
The 21-year-old striker is 1.88 meters tall and scored eight times in the last Ligue 1 season. According to "The Athletic," he signed a five-year contract.
Under former Salzburg coach Matthias Jaissle, Newcastle remains undefeated so far this season.
