Former Salzburg pro Amar Dedic has triggered a major police operation in England.

As reported by the "Daily Mail", the 24-year-old Newcastle defender was spotted with a bow and arrow alongside a friend in a recreation area in Northumberland on Wednesday afternoon.

A concerned passerby subsequently alerted the police, who responded with at least six emergency vehicles. Armed response units were reportedly among them.

Bow and arrow seized

Officers eventually stopped Dedic's vehicle roughly eleven kilometers from the original sighting location.

The Bosnian international was questioned, his car searched, and the bow and arrow were seized.

Police give all-clear – Investigation ongoing

Following questioning, police clarified that at no point was there a threat to the public. The bow and arrow were apparently intended for recreational use.

According to the report, Dedic and his companion were also said to have fired arrows in the wild. What they were aiming at, however, remains unclear. Hunting animals with a bow and arrow is illegal in Great Britain.
