Conference League: Successful Evening for ÖFB Legionnaires

Almost all ÖFB Legionnaires have secured their place with their clubs in the third qualification round for the UEFA Conference League.

Lukas Fadinger and Martin Moormann advanced with Motherwell FC after a 3-0 away win against HB Torshavn, having won the first leg 2-0. Fadinger initiated the success with a penalty in the 25th minute and was substituted in the 73rd minute. Moormann left the field in the 80th minute.

In the next round, HJK Helsinki from Finland awaits them.

First Jitters, Then Relief for Savic

Stefan Savic and Borac Banja Luka initially had to sweat it out despite a 3-0 victory in the first leg.

Against FC Petrocub, the Bosnians were 0-2 down after 19 minutes. At the start of the second half, the Salzburg native reduced the deficit to 1-2 (50th minute). Hiros (56th minute) had the right answer to Rotaru's 3-1 (52nd minute). Savic provided the assist (78th minute) for Roguljic's goal, which made it 3-3, securing the draw.

Their next opponent is ML Vitebsk from Belarus.

Kojzek Also Celebrates

Erik Kojzek and Partizan Belgrade are also still in the running for a spot in the league phase.

The second leg against UNA Strassen in Luxembourg was won 1-0, after the Serbs had celebrated a 4-0 victory in the first leg. This time, Kostic (48th minute) scored the only goal. Kojzek was on the field until the 62nd minute.

Next, Tobyl Qostanai from Kazakhstan stands in their way.

Four More ÖFB Legionnaires Advance

Raphael Sallinger, Marcel Monsberger, Maximilian Hofmann, and Andreas Gruber are also still in the competition.

Sallinger and Hibernian FC turned the tie against KF Mailsehva around with a 4-1 home victory, after the first leg had surprisingly gone 2-0 to the Kosovans. The former Hartberg goalkeeper played the entire match.

Monsberger celebrated a 2-0 victory with FC Vaduz against Atletic Escaldes, securing a 6-0 aggregate win. The striker entered the field in the 46th minute. In the third round, they will face Inter Turku, after the Finns surprisingly eliminated Basaksehir Istanbul.

For Hofmann and Debreceni VSC, a goalless draw against Pyunik Yerevan was enough, having secured a 1-0 victory in the first leg. The former Rapid player was not in the squad for the away match in Armenia, but he played the full match at home. The third qualification round will be contested against FC Copenhagen.

Gruber was injured and absent from Dunajska Streda's 3-0 win in Bosnia; the Slovaks had already won the first leg against Velez Mostar 1-0. Their next task is Twente Enschede, a team "relegated" from the Europa League qualifiers.

No Legionnaire Clash

Jakob Brunnhofer and NK Bravo, however, were eliminated.

The Slovenians lost 1-3 away to KF Shkendija in North Macedonia; their 2-1 home victory from the first leg was not enough. The former Rapid talent played the full match in central defense.

Thus, there will also be no clash between two ÖFB Legionnaires, as Shkendija will now face Hibernian.
