LASK secure their first victory on the fourth matchday of the UEFA Youth League with a 2-1 against Slovan Bratislava!
Krapf gives the Linz team the lead (12'), the Slovaks equalize through a Verhaeghe own goal (29'). In stoppage time, Wimmer shoots LASK to victory (90'+1).
This marks the first time Coach Vukovic's team earns three points in the youth Champions League. Previously, there was one draw and two defeats.
Late Winner Just Before the End
After Krapf's opening goal (12'), the visitors equalize 1-1 via an own goal from the Linz team (29').
In the second half, LASK were better organized defensively, not allowing as much as in the first half. Furthermore, the Upper Austrians were more present offensively.
In the 90th minute, the Linz team's supposed winning goal was disallowed due to an offside position. However, LASK immediately pushed forward with the next attack. Osifo's shot was saved, and Wimmer tucked away the much-celebrated 2-1 (90'+1).
In the next round, LASK will visit Bodö/Glimt. Currently, the Athletiker are in 25th place in the table.
