BVB is concerned about newcomer Konstantinos Karetsas!
The summer signing was stretchered off the pitch on Tuesday evening during the Champions League match between Borussia Dortmund and FC Villarreal. BVB won the game 3:2 (Match Report >>>).
Concerns at BVB
The 18-year-old had shortly before sat down on the grass, asked for help, and clutched his chest. Emergency doctors then rushed to him, and he was subsequently taken to the hospital.
"I went out with him, but he wasn't directly able to speak at that moment. We naturally hope that he recovers very, very quickly and that it's nothing serious," said Sporting Director Ole Book during halftime.
Update from the Club
After the final whistle, the club provided an update via its social media channels. The reason given was circulatory problems, and the player was reportedly doing well under the circumstances.
Managing Director Lars Ricken expressed concern: "It was circulatory problems out of nowhere. Nothing had indicated it. We have to wait and see what the next few days bring."
The attacking midfielder joined in the summer from KRC Genk for 30 million euros and immediately made a very good impression. Now, it remains to be hoped that nothing more serious is wrong.
