Jungwirth cannot be blamed for the free-kick goal into his keeper's corner; Marin's shot was too powerful and precise for that.
After that, he was rarely tested for long stretches, but when he was needed, he was on hand.

Overall the strongest player in the backline. The Dutchman crucially blocked a shot from a good position in the 19th minute.
He also remained attentive afterwards, for example in the 37th minute when Varga ran alone towards goal after a botched pass from Bogarde. He repeatedly covered for his teammates' errors but also showed minor insecurities now and then.
Joao Tornich

Played an inconspicuous game for long stretches, which isn't necessarily a bad thing for a center-back. He committed minor (avoidable) errors now and then, which were not punished by the Greeks.

Defensively repeatedly too imprecise and with room for improvement in some situations. A misplaced pass in the 90th minute once again opened up a good chance for Zine.
An improvement is needed against Liverpool.

Offensively, almost nothing came from the Dane. Defensively, he also seemed overwhelmed by his opponent Koita, who repeatedly got past him too easily.
After a careless loss of possession at the start of the second half, he was also lucky to escape a yellow card.
For a Champions League debut, a grade of four can be excused, but a clear improvement is needed in upcoming matches.

Was largely anonymous in the first half and couldn't create danger offensively as usual.
Much more active and noticeable after the break, but his crosses were too inaccurate to become truly dangerous. Defensively, the American played very solidly for long stretches.

In the 20th minute, he caused the free-kick that led to the 1-0 with an unnecessary foul. His costly loss of possession in the 37th minute, after which Varga ran alone towards goal, should also not happen to him.
He normally provides stability to the midfield but this time was too prone to errors and was on the verge of a red card with several fouls.

Covered a lot of ground and proved to be a reliable player in the center. Took the first shot after the break, without causing much danger. He was replaced by Schöpf in the 65th minute.
Sascha Horvath

The heart and soul of Linz's central midfield. He distributed the balls well and repeatedly found solutions in the attacking third.
In the 49th minute, he had a big chance to equalize but squandered it. An opportunity he must take at Champions League level. He will know that best himself.
Christoph Lang

The 24-year-old was largely anonymous for long stretches of the first half, but still had LASK's biggest chance before the break in the 42nd minute.
Overall, he showed great effort, repeatedly identified open spaces and offered himself well as a passing option.

Had the first half-chance in the ninth minute, but shortly thereafter committed a sloppy pass in a promising counter-attacking situation. The chance was gone.
Otherwise, he remained rather inconspicuous at first but showed great effort. He was crucially involved in the build-up to Horvath's big chance shortly after the break.

Came on for Ljubicic and quickly found his way into the game. Overall, however, he remained rather inconspicuous, demanding many balls in the final minutes without being able to create any dangerous actions.
