Absolute Blockbusters! These are LASK's Champions League Opponents

Two days after the miracle of Linz, LASK knows its eight opponents for the league phase of the UEFA Champions League.

The Bundesliga champions are participating in the premier club competition for the first time in their history and can look forward to some exciting matchups.

Two heavyweight opponents from Pot 1

From Pot 1, Didi Kühbauer's team has been drawn two absolute blockbusters: record winners Real Madrid with star coach Jose Mourinho and Liverpool FC. The Linz team will travel to the Santiago Bernabeu and host the "Reds" at home in the Steel City.

The opponents from Pot 2 will be the top two clubs from Portugal last season: champions FC Porto will come to Linz, and an away trip to Sporting Lisbon also awaits.

From Pot 3, LASK draws two difficult opponents: FK Bodø/Glimt and Fenerbahce Istanbul. The Athletiker will have to play away against the Norwegians, while "Fener" will visit Linz. The Turkish club defeated Sturm Graz in the qualifiers.

And from Pot 4, the Champions League debutants will face AEK Athens and Slovan Bratislava. The Slovaks, with former LASK defender Kevin Wimmer, will be welcomed at the Gugl, while the clash with Robert Ljubicic's former club will take place in Greece.

First matchday already in early September

The first matchday will be played between September 8th and 10th. The last of the eight league phase rounds will then take place on January 27th, 2027.

The exact match schedule, including dates and kick-off times, will be announced by Saturday, August 29th, at the latest.
