The league phase of the UEFA Champions League 2026/27 has been drawn.

36 teams will participate in Europe's elite club competition, including Austrian representative LASK.

The draw was held at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco and produced several high-calibre encounters.

Blockbuster clashes as far as the eye can see

Record winners Real Madrid will face, among others, last year's finalists FC Arsenal and Inter Milan. Inter also has an away trip to FC Liverpool. Alongside "the Royal Whites", Arsenal also drew FC Bayern Munich from Pot one.

Bayern will also play Atletico Madrid and Manchester United from Pot two. Atletico will play against Bayern as well as FC Liverpool.

The other Spanish giant, FC Barcelona, has also drawn absolute blockbuster opponents. The Catalans must face Manchester City and defending champions PSG, among others. Both of the Catalans' opponents will also meet each other in the league phase.

Exciting duels for Austrian internationals

Marcel Sabitzer and Carney Chukwuemeka, with their club Borussia Dortmund, are set for clashes against Arsenal, Inter, and Aston Villa, among others. RB Leipzig, featuring Nicolas Seiwald and Christoph Baumgartner, will take on Manchester City and Real Madrid.

Kevin Wimmer and his team Slovan Bratislava must travel to Inter Milan, while at home they will host Paris Saint-Germain, among others.

Samson Baidoo's RC Lens will play Manchester City and FC Liverpool from Pot one. Paul Wanner and PSV Eindhoven will face both Madrid teams, hosting Atletico and visiting Real.

First Round Early September

The league phase kicks off on September 8. The first matchday will be spread over three days, taking place from September 8 to 10. The last of the eight rounds of the league phase will then conclude on January 27, 2027.

A total of 36 teams will participate in the league phase. Each team will play four home games and four away games against a total of eight different clubs.

The top 8 teams from the league phase qualify for the Round of 16, while teams ranked nine to 24 proceed to the knockout round play-offs. The last eight teams are eliminated.

The final will take place on June 5, 2027, at Atletico Madrid's Estadio Metropolitano.
