Red Bull Salzburg extends contract with breakthrough player
The center-back is one of the surprises of the new season. Now he has extended his contract with the "Red Bulls".
FC Red Bull Salzburg has secured the long-term commitment of a defensive talent.
As the club announced on Wednesday, defender Valentin Zabransky has prematurely extended his contract by another year until summer 2030.
The 19-year-old is one of the big winners of the new season, having played his way into Salzburg's starting XI and already contested 17 competitive matches for the club this year.
"Has made enormous progress"
"We are pleased that we were able to extend our cooperation with Valentin Zabransky ahead of schedule. He has made enormous progress in recent months and plays at a consistently high level. I am convinced that he will take further steps on his Salzburg journey," says Marcus Mann, Sporting Director at the "Red Bulls".
"We want to support him in this and give him the opportunity to continue developing with us. The long-term agreement creates a good basis for this," he adds.
"Incentive to push even harder"
"At the beginning of this season, everything suddenly happened very quickly, and I was initially a little surprised myself how well it went. Since then, I've enjoyed my appearances, but I'm far from having enough," says Zabransky.
"The extension by no means signifies a resting period for me, but rather an incentive to push even harder and continue. It certainly gives me a lot of self-confidence and, of course, makes me proud," adds the Austrian youth international, who has played for the Salzburg club since the U14s.
