Hartberg laments victory in Tirol: "A huge stupidity!"

One could hardly squander a lead more bitterly.

Only 15 seconds separated Hartberg from their third consecutive Bundesliga victory. However, a penalty ultimately prevented the win against WSG.

However, in the end, not only the penalty was decisive, but also a naive and passive performance after the first half.

TSV coach Schopp after the 2-2: "A felt defeat"

Because after two goals from two free-kick situations by Oliver Lukic (14th) and Marco Hoffmann (44th), the East Styrians actually looked like the certain winners. Ultimately, Schopp's team still squandered the 2-0 lead.

Naturally, TSV coach Markus Schopp also criticized his team. "It's a felt defeat that is absolutely acceptable. We were only destructive in the last 25 minutes and wanted to see it through. But that's the wrong approach and naive, not to say stupid," he explained immediately afterwards in the "Sky" interview.

The draw is, of course, particularly bitter for Lukic. The loaned player from Salzburg initially scored the first Bundesliga goal of his career, likely with a bouncing shot after a free-kick. But in the end, the young Croat became the scapegoat.

Lukic after late penalty foul: "It looks stupid"

Because in what was supposedly the last action of the game, the only 19-year-old Croat pushed WSG player Thomas Sabitzer in his own penalty area, thus leading to the penalty which the Tyroleans ultimately converted.

"It's a huge stupidity and, of course, looks stupid. I saw the ball poorly because of the sun and thought I had pushed Angelo (Note: Gatteremayer). I didn't even realize at first that it wasn't my own teammate," said Lukic.

The match thus ended extremely unluckily for the Salzburg loan player. "It's bitter. That simply must not happen to me," he added.

WSG on a quest 'for energy levels'

On the Tyroleans' side, the situation naturally looks different. Actually, after their Bundesliga successes over Lustenau (4-0) and against Wiener Austria (1-0), WSG was already heading for a home defeat. Ultimately, however, it was still enough for another point.

"We were missing a few percent in terms of energy level in the first half. And then we don't defend such set-pieces with the necessary aggressiveness," noted WSG coach Philipp Semlic.

However, exactly these attributes led the Tyroleans to a draw after the change of ends. "In the second half, the intensity in possession was right. Therefore, it's also a highly deserved point," he added.
