Apartment lease terminated after season end? Polster explains move

Coach Thomas Silberberger expressed great satisfaction in a "Sky" interview: "This is how we imagined and dreamed of the season opener. That it turned out this way is a confirmation of our performance in pre-season."

Silberberger not happy with the final phase

WAC presented themselves "more aggressive" and "more spirited" against a weak Violets side, hardly allowing the opponent any goalscoring opportunities in the first 60 minutes.

"Of course, it can continue in this manner, but we know that we still have a lot of potential to improve," Silberberger states.

Silberberger particularly disliked the final phase, when the team was only playing in "management mode".

"We also had phases of inactivity where we paid tribute to the pace of our pressing. We don't really want that, but it was also due to the clear result and the heat."

Polster: "We have completely put last season behind us"

Goalkeeper Nikolas Polster also expressed happiness with the clear victory: "We did really well, defended really well. Austria didn't really get into dangerous finishing positions."

The Lavanttal team has processed the failed last season well: "A new season is starting now, we have completely put the last one behind us, we want to take the momentum from the end, start well, and we succeeded very well today."

WAC keeper clarifies apartment move

However, the focus remains on his duties at WAC: "As long as I am here, I give my all. And what comes in the future is written in the stars," says Polster.

After the end of the season, the 24-year-old moved out of his apartment in Lavanttal. However, this has nothing to do with an intended departure: "Our landlord needed the apartment for personal use. That's why I had to look for a new one," the goalkeeper explains.

Outwardly, the situation doesn't seem to bother him too much: "You're professional enough to put that aside. I focus 100 percent on WAC in every training session and every match. If something good comes up, if it suits all parties, then playing abroad is naturally the goal sooner or later."
