Ried transfers Sollbauer to league rival
This season, the defensive veteran hasn't featured at all for SV Ried. With the transfer of Luka Capan, the path was now clear for a departure.
SV Ried parts ways with defensive veteran Michael Sollbauer. The 36-year-old centre-back joins GAK with immediate effect.
Last season, the Carinthian was still one of the absolute key players for the Innviertler team, but this season he hasn't been in the squad once, partly due to a ligament injury. With the signing of Luka Capan, the path was now clear for a departure.
"Sole was instrumental in the sporting success of the past two years and an important part of the SVR family. He deserves our utmost appreciation for that. In the overall sporting picture, a situation has now arisen where the transfer to GAK is the best solution for all parties. We wish Sole all the best, both professionally and personally," emphasizes SVR sporting director Lukas Brandl.
With his experience, the 36-year-old is expected to provide the necessary stability to the Rotjacken's defense. He signs a one-year contract with an option at GAK.
