Silberberger: "Squad is a bit large"
Wolfsberger AC earned around seven million euros on the transfer market this summer – further departures could still follow.
"I would give our transfer window a grade of two," WAC head coach Thomas Silberberger concluded positively regarding the summer transfers, speaking to "Krone".
"I am satisfied! We brought in some experienced players like Behounek, Fitz, and Vrioni. Those were three exclamation marks at the beginning and end of the transfer phase," Silberberger rejoiced.
"In the end, however, my wishes were fulfilled," said the WAC coach.
Almost Seven Million Euros Earned, But...
Overall, there have been twelve new signings in Lavanttal, but also twelve new signings. The transfers of Thierno Ballo (2.65 million euros), Dejan Zukic (2.5 million euros), Nikolas Polster (1.15 million euros), and Erik Kojzek (loan fee of 500,000 euros) brought a lot of money into the coffers.
Nevertheless, Silberberger is not entirely satisfied with the number of departures. "There are deductions because the squad is currently a bit large – but we can still find takers in some leagues."

The WAC's next appearance will be on Sunday in the second round of the UNIQA ÖFB Cup. Their opponent is regional league team Parndorf (Sunday, from 5:00 PM in the LIVE-Ticker).
