Hoff Thorup on Helm's Departure: "He's a Good Guy"

Johannes Hoff Thorup was in the middle of his press conference after the 5-1 victory over Austria Lustenau, when a mail notification popped up on his laptop in the bottom right corner: "Stephan Helm released – Max Uhlig takes over until the end of the year."

This was a relevant topic for the Rapid coach, as the Vienna Derby away at Wiener Austria is scheduled for next week.

And now part of the analysis must take into account that the former Young Violets coach will be on the sidelines.

"All the Best for Him"

Reason enough for him to be asked about it. "We have to find some matches he coached. Good for the analysis team, they'll have to buckle down now. It's always good to be challenged a bit," the Dane smiled.

He then adopted a more serious expression and sent honest well wishes to Stephan Helm: "My thoughts and all the best for him, because he's a good guy. It's been a difficult season for them (Austria, ed. note). Sometimes it's easier to blame the coach, and harder to hold those accountable who make bigger decisions than he does."
