Freund's Son Moves to Bundesliga!
From the Regional League to the Austrian top flight! Simon Freund fulfills a dream. Dad Christoph also had a hand in it.
TSV Hartberg has reportedly secured the services of the son of arguably the most famous Austrian football manager!
As "Krone" reported on Monday, Simon Freund - son of Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund - is set to sign in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga after successful trial training sessions.
The 21-year-old is thus coming from SV Seekirchen from the Regionalliga Nord to Eastern Styria. In Hartberg, the midfielder is said to have already signed a two-year contract.
Dad Helped with the Contract
Simon Freund says about his career leap: "A truly wonderful day. I am very happy that a door has finally opened."
Father and expert Christoph naturally also helped his son with finalizing the deal. "Dad said he is very proud of me. He naturally also helped me with it and took care of the contract. I myself don't have an agent," says the 2005-born player.
SV Seekirchen already announced the transfer via social media, but there was no confirmation from TSV Hartberg on Monday.
