Home Win! Masterful Season Start for LASK against GAK
GAK is helpless away against champions LASK; the Linz side dominates at will, even without ÖFB World Cup hero Sasa Kalajdzic.
In the first match of the new 2026/27 season in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga, double-winners LASK triumph 3-0 against GAK.
The reigning champions from Linz start the new season with customary superiority. From the outset, LASK dictates play, while the "Rotjacken" from Graz appear overwhelmed.
After seven minutes, new GAK keeper Stankovic is forced to make his first brilliant save against Adeniran's shot, while Cup goalscorer Lang hits the post (15.).
After 20 minutes, LASK takes a deserved lead: Stankovic can only parry an Andrade thunderbolt, but Jörgensen immediately sends the ball back into the box, and Adeniran heads it in (20.).
Adeniran bags a brace
Shortly after, Adeniran gets the chance to complete his brace from the penalty spot.
GAK defender Pines miscontrols the ball, and the American has to unfairly stop Danek. Pines' compatriot Adeniran converts the resulting penalty with great power to make it 2-0 (29./P). The teams head into halftime with this highly deserved scoreline.
No comeback for the "Rotjacken"
The second half sees an unchanged picture. LASK dominates, leaving nothing for GAK to gain.
However, Danek (47.) and Lang (51.) miss, while Stankovic (57.) saves Andrade's header. It's not until the 77th minute that GAK gets their first real chance, but LASK keeper Jungwirth comfortably catches Hofleitner's header.
The win for the Linz side is long secured, but the "Stahlstädter" are not done yet. Substitute Bogarde intercepts a pass in midfield and sends Lang into the box on the half-left, from where the LASK attacker coolly finishes (77.).
Substitute Smits still misses a clear header opportunity for GAK (90.+1), then the match is officially over.
With this deserved victory in the season opener, the reigning champions also immediately become the first league leaders of the new season.
