Wacker Innsbruck extends contract with offensive breakthrough player
The Tyroleans tie an offensive player to the club long-term. This season, the 20-year-old has already scored four times.
On the day of the West Derby against Austria Salzburg (from 8:30 PM in the LIVE stream>>>), Wacker Innsbruck announces the contract extension with a key player.
As the Tyroleans officially announced on Friday, Luis Gstrein has extended his contract at Tivoli, which was originally dated until summer 2027, by two more years. Furthermore, the club holds an option to extend the contract for an additional year.
Gstrein, who transferred from Längenfeld to the Tyroleans in 2024, became a regular on the left wing this season and contributed four goals in seven competitive matches.
"We are very pleased that we can shape the future with Luis early. This extension provides both sides with planning certainty and shows how great the mutual trust is," said Jakob Griesebner, Sporting Director at Wacker Innsbruck.
"Still has a lot of potential"
"Luis shapes our offensive play with his performances and still has a lot of potential. Tying a Tyrolean talent like him to FC Wacker long-term is a strong signal. We are committed to continuity and want to take the next steps together with him," he added.
"Wacker is my first home in professional football. I am grateful for the trust and the opportunity to build something here long-term. As a Tyrolean, it means a lot to me to continue on this path and take the next steps together with the team," said 20-year-old Gstrein.
