SW Bregenz celebrates home win against ten Graz players
The Vorarlbergers secure their second league win, while the young Blackies suffer their second consecutive defeat.
Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz claims their second league victory on Matchday 4 of the ADMIRAL 2. Liga against SK Sturm Graz II.
Sealey (3rd minute), Rossi (31st), and Fetahu (52nd) each scored their first league goals of the current season. Lang equalized temporarily from the penalty spot (24th). Sturm's Maierhofer was shown a red card for an aggressive foul (67th).
Early Bregenz Goal
The first chance of the game fell to Sturm's Lang (1st), but just two minutes later, the first goal was scored at the other end. Bregenz newcomer Sealey tapped in for a 1-0 lead, scoring his first goal in LigaZwa (3rd).
Following the opening goal, a mistake by SW goalkeeper Joao Paulo almost led to an equalizer. He took too much time and kicked the ball against an opponent, but it rolled past the empty net.
The Graz side then equalized from the penalty spot, making it 1-1. Torelli slightly held back Peinhart, and the visiting striker accepted the contact and went down. Lang converted the spot-kick (24th).
After half an hour, goalscorer Lang missed the chance to give his team the lead for the first time (30th). Almost immediately, Bregenz took the lead again, with Rossi scoring from a cross to make it 2-1 at halftime (31st).
Substitute Fetahu Extends Bregenz's Lead
At the start of the second half, the home team celebrated again. Substitute Fetahu caught Sturm keeper Lorenz off guard, scoring from a free-kick into the keeper's corner to make it 3-1 (52nd).
The game then became more heated. During a stoppage in play, Sturm's Maierhofer pushed a Bregenz player. After a small skirmish, referee Sampl showed a red card. In the previous round's 0-2 loss against Admira, two Graz players were sent off.
Shortly after, Sturm had a prime opportunity to pull a goal back despite being a man down, but Lang was denied by goalkeeper Joao Paulo.
In the final phase, the Vorarlbergers had chances to score a fourth goal, but the match ended 3-1. SW Bregenz is now 7th in the table, while Sturm II occupies 14th place.
