As reported by the Italian ski magazine "Sciaremag", a hotel in the Nevados de Chillán ski resort has gone up in flames. The affected accommodation is reportedly "Alto Nevados".

According to the outlet, some Italian skiers were at the scene of the incident as they were there for FIS races.

No injuries were reported, and all individuals were brought to safety in time. However, competition equipment and luggage were reportedly destroyed.

The athletes were transferred to a nearby hotel. With slopes near the accommodation now closed, it remains questionable whether the FIS races can take place.
