Schwarz after Sölden DNF: "I won't overreact to it"
For Marco Schwarz, the season opener in Sölden was over after just a few gates. Here's how the ÖSV star assesses his DNF:

Austrian ski fans experienced a small déjà vu on Sunday at the World Cup opener in Sölden.
Similar to Julia Scheib the day before, Marco Schwarz, one of the ÖSV's great hopes, failed in the giant slalom after just a few gates.
The Carinthian, who was second in Sölden last year, classically slipped away with too much inside lean and took out a gate.
"It was a bit too audacious"
"Up top, it was a relatively straight course setting, and I wanted to try the audacious line. I think it was a bit too audacious. I might have slipped a little over the inside ski or the boot there," Schwarz analyzed.
The DNF at the opener is "naturally disappointing, but I won't overreact to it; I already said that before the race."
Still a lot to do
Unlike Scheib, who was fastest at least until the second intermediate split, Schwarz has no time comparison with the competition.
"I know where I stand in training and that I still have a lot to do," says the two-time World Championship bronze medalist in giant slalom. "I now have over a month to continue working on it. The entire season is still ahead of me."
Relatively fair conditions
Schwarz described the at times very windy conditions during the first race of the season as "relatively fair."
"I want them to get the race done, for the spectators and for everyone involved."
