After Resignation: New Board for the 2027 Ski World Championships Confirmed
A dual leadership takes command at the 2027 Ski World Championships and succeeds the resigned OC head Schmidhalter.
Following the resignation of OC head Claude-Alain Schmidhalter (More info>>>), his succession has been clarified.
The leadership of the 2027 Ski World Championships in Crans-Montana will be taken over by a duo: Raphaëlle Favre Schnyder and Diego Züger will jointly form the executive board going forward.
Unanimously Elected
The Organizing Committee unanimously elected the two on Thursday at an extraordinary general assembly, as "Swiss Ski" officially announced.
Favre Schnyder is a lawyer from Valais and has been a member of the Swiss-Ski Executive Board since 2024, representing the Interregion West. Züger is Co-CEO of the Swiss Ski Association.
The succession had to be clarified after Schmidhalter resigned from his positions at Swiss-Ski and the World Championship OC at the beginning of October. He had previously been provisionally relieved of his duties due to an ongoing criminal investigation.
