Kitzbühel: Burgenland's Rabl Chanceless in WTA Debut

Leonie Rabl's WTA Tour debut ended with a defeat.

The 18-year-old had to concede defeat to former world No. 56 Arantxa Rus (NED) with a 1:6, 0:6 scoreline.

Already in the first set, the experienced Dutchwoman pulled ahead to 5:0 before Rabl managed to hold her first service game at tour level. The second set was also a clear affair, with Rus winning it 6:0.

The Burgenland native has previously only played in categories below the WTA. A few days ago, she won the doubles title at the State Championships in Oberpullendorf with Claudia Gasparovic.
