Cancellation! US Open Finalist withdraws from Laver Cup
However, Ben Shelton will participate in the Davis Cup with the USA.
The 2026 Laver Cup will take place without Ben Shelton (ATP-4.)!
The US Open finalist would have been the highest-ranked player in Captain Andre Agassi's team. Brandon Nakashima (USA/ATP-16.) has been subsequently nominated to replace him for the showdown between the World and Europe teams.
Taylor Fritz, Alex de Minaur, Alexander Bublik, Learner Tien, and Francisco Cerúndolo are also participating. The European representation, with Zverev, Alcaraz, Ruud, Cobolli, Mensik, and Jodar, is once again considered the favorite. However, last year the European team suffered a 9:15 defeat.
The tournament will take place from September 25th to 27th in London.
Participation in the Davis Cup
In contrast, Shelton will compete for the USA in the Davis Cup. The team will face the Czech Republic this week.
