Neumayer and Rodionov No Match for US Duo

The ÖTV doubles pair Lukas Neumayer/Jurij Rodionov suffered a clear 0:6, 2:6 defeat against the US duo Ryan Seggerman/Learner Tien in the round of 16 at the Erste Bank Open.

The match in the Marx Halle, where Neumayer and Rodionov were playing thanks to a wildcard, was decided after only about 42 minutes.

Seggerman and Tien raced through the first set with three breaks. In the second set, the ÖTV doubles pair managed to hold serve twice but also conceded two breaks.

Rodionov was eliminated on Wednesday in the Stadthalle as the last Austrian in the singles competition. He lost 6:7 (3), 1:6 to Georgia's Nikoloz Basilashvili. Vienna debutant Neumayer had nothing to show for his first-round match against Jakub Mensik, falling 2:6, 2:6.
