On June 11, 2005, Austria Amateurs secured promotion from the Regionalliga Ost to the 2. Liga with a 2-0 victory against Eisenstadt.
Right in the thick of it: Peter Stöger, LigaZwa expert powered by IMMOUnited, who served as sporting director at the time.
In an interview with Harald Prantl, Stöger recalls his stressful early days at Verteilerkreis, the Stronach Academy in Hollabrunn, and the challenges faced by young players balancing academy life and commuting to Vienna.
He also explains why the 2. Liga is so crucial for the development of young talents – and how players like David Alaba made the leap into senior football.
