Following Stephan Helm's departure, Wiener Austria is opting for an internal solution.

Maximilian Uhlig will take on the role of head coach until the end of the year. Since Helm's assistant coach Christian Wegleitner also had to leave, this role will also be filled – internally as well.

Ex-Captain Alongside Uhlig

Alexander Grünwald will be the new assistant coach for the "Violets".

The former captain, after an eventful period as sporting director and interim coach at SV Stripfing, was most recently a talent coach in Favoriten.

Changes in the Coaching Staff

In addition to Grünwald, there are further changes in the coaching staff: Michael Walker (Assistant Coach Analysis), Florian Uhlig (Team Development), and Bastian Bauer (Athletics) will support Maximilian Uhlig in the future. Daniel Gasser and Udo Siebenhandl remain with the team.

The new coaching staff is also expected to remain in place until the end of the year, as will the new interim coach of the Young Violets: Manuel Takacs.

The Academy Director takes over at the Violets, so that no further reassignments are necessary within the AKA. Philipp Steiner (Video Analysis) and Daniel Gangl (Athletics) are moving to the Violets' staff. Previously, they were with the senior team.

LigaZwa Experience

The 40-year-old from Burgenland brings a wealth of experience from various youth teams. Since 2016, he has worked at academies in Burgenland and Upper Austria.

Furthermore, he coached Juniors OÖ for 14 games in LigaZwa before the team withdrew from the league after the season.

"The work in our academy is proceeding extremely positively, which is why it was important for us to continue the existing structures of the coaching positions and the successful work in the academy teams unchanged. Manuel Takacs knows our talents very well due to his role as Academy Director, holds a UEFA Pro License, and will provisionally take over the coaching position of our second team for the coming weeks," Sporting Director Tomas Zorn is quoted in the statement.
