Capitals' defensive duo out for months
After goalkeeper Sebastian Wraneschitz, the Viennese will also have to do without two defenders for a long time.
The Vienna Capitals will have to do without Nelson Nogier and Raphael Wolf in the coming months.
Both defenders will have to undergo surgery soon due to upper body injuries. The Viennese announced this on Wednesday.
Nogier already sustained his upper body injury at the end of August during the pre-season game against KAC. Initially, the injury was to be treated conservatively, but since no improvement occurred, surgery is unavoidable.
Wolf played the first five games of the current season before he also suffered an injury. The Salzburg native also cannot avoid surgery.
No replacement for Nogier and Wolf
The two defensive players are the next long-term absentees after goalkeeper Sebastian Wraneschitz, who also had to go under the knife after a lower body injury.
However, there is no search for replacements, according to a LAOLA1 inquiry. Instead, players from the prospect squad are to be given a chance for playing time if needed.
In the current win2day ICE Hockey League standings, the Viennese are in seventh place after nine games.
