Messi Finishes Second
The battle for the Golden Boot remained exciting until the very end. However, after Lionel Messi failed to score in the final, he had to settle for eight goals and second place.
Third place on the top scorers list goes to England's Jude Bellingham. He scores seven goals at the World Cup, as does Norway's Erling Haaland.
Mbappé also retains the record for most World Cup goals, which he took from Lionel Messi in the third-place play-off. The 27-year-old has scored 22 goals in his career so far, while the Argentine stands at 21.
