Zidane and France Fans Laud Olise
The Bayern star is subbed on 30 minutes from time and leaves his mark on the game. Fans now dedicate a chant, originally for Dembele, to him.
"Michael Olise - Ballon d’Or," chanted the French fans on Monday evening at the Stade de France.
As the Bayern star almost single-handedly turned the game around to a 4-1 victory with two goals and an assist as a super-sub, a fan chant was dedicated to him, which had previously actually been associated with one of his teammates.
Because in the 2024/25 season, it was Ousmane Dembele who, after outstanding performances, was primarily linked with the Ballon d'Or by PSG fans. However, the Paris star, of all people, had a rather weak performance against Belgium.
Zidane: "Extraordinary, what he's doing"
France's national coach was similarly impressed by Olise's performance. "It's simply extraordinary what he's doing," the former world-class player lauded his protégé.
Zidane's team was 0-1 down when Olise was substituted on. First, Doue equalized, before the Bayern player assisted Cherki's 1-1 goal and sealed the win with a brace.
