In Turkish Relegation Zone: Ex-Austria Coach Sacked
The former Austria coach has been relieved of his duties in the Turkish Süper Lig. He only managed to win one of his first eight matches.

The former Austria coach has been dismissed by Samsunspor after a poor start to the season. Sitting in 16th place, the team is currently in a direct relegation spot.
The German coach only managed to collect four points from the first seven matches in the Turkish top flight.
Reached Round of 16 Last Season
Last season, the 58-year-old led the Turkish club to the Round of 16 of the UEFA Conference League.
"We thank Thorsten Fink for the effort he put in for Samsunspor, the responsibility he took on, and the professionalism he showed during his tenure," stated the club's official announcement.
Fink was coach of Wiener Austria from 2015 to 2018. With the "Veilchen" (Violets), he finished third in the Austrian Bundesliga in 2015/16 and second in 2016/17. In the Europa League, they impressed with a 3-3 draw against AS Roma, among other results.
