Will there be a turnaround in the chase for former ÖFB talent Ermin Mahmic?
Another interested party has entered the race. Has his former club LASK also indirectly influenced the negotiations?
Ermin Mahmic (21) made an impression at the World Cup in the Bosnia & Herzegovina jersey, scoring two goals in three games.
The Wels native could have worn the ÖFB jersey, as the Slovan Liberec player still featured for the Austrian U21 team in March.
Does LASK's victory thwart two Celtic transfers?
A departure is now on the cards for the summer. Celtic Glasgow was recently considered the favourite. However, the Scots missed out on the UEFA Champions League in the playoff against LASK. For another player, a deal is therefore considered unlikely for financial reasons; Salzburg is now in pole position there >>>
Is LASK now also derailing Celtic's transfer plans for Mahmic? According to "sportsport" from Bosnia & Herzegovina, the Scots are staying in the hunt.
Greeks step in
However, there is new interest from Greece. PAOK Saloniki wants to sign the former LASK youth player. The Greeks could make the poker even more interesting, and FC Red Bull Salzburg was also linked for a while.
Mahmic moved from the Rapid youth academy to Lafnitz in the ADMIRAL 2. Liga in 2023, and last summer he made the leap from there to the Czech top flight with Slovan Liberec.
