Official! Jürgen Klopp Takes Over DFB Team
Three weeks after Julian Nagelsmann's departure, the Germans present his successor.
It had been hinted at for weeks, now it's official: Jürgen Klopp will be the new DFB national team coach.
The German Football Association officially announced this on Friday. The 59-year-old signs a contract until July 2030 and is accordingly set to oversee the upcoming European Championship and World Cup.
After his resignation from FC Liverpool, Klopp had worked as "Head of Soccer" at Red Bull since January 2025. The beverage manufacturer apparently does not receive a classic transfer fee for "Kloppo". Instead, the DFB will donate one million Euros to a foundation.
The German won the Champions League, the Premier League, and the FA Cup with Liverpool. In seven years at Borussia Dortmund, he became champion twice and cup winner once. Prior to that, he coached 1. FSV Mainz 05 for seven years.
