Salzburg's Gourna Douath Moves to Premier League
The midfielder finally leaves Salzburg after four years. He was most recently on loan in France.
FC Red Bull Salzburg announces the departure of Luca Gourna-Douath!
The 23-year-old moves to newly-promoted Hull City in the English Premier League, where he signs a contract until summer 2031.
Gourna-Douath had joined Salzburg from St. Etienne in 2022 with great promise for a then-record fee of 13 million Euros. In the summer of 2025, he was loaned to AS Roma, but he failed to make an impact there. In the past second half of the season, he played on loan for Le Havre in Ligue 1.
A Solution That "Suits All Parties Well"
He recently had no future at the "Bulls," and now a club has been found. "Together with Lucas, we sought a solution that suits all parties well. We are pleased that we have succeeded in this with the move to Hull City. We now wish him all the best and much success at his new club," Salzburg's Sporting Director Marcus Mann is quoted as saying.
"The Premier League is the best league in the world. I am really happy and incredibly excited to compete against these teams with Hull," said Gourna Douath in a statement from his new club.
