Birthday boy Hoffmann fires Hartberg to victory over Altach
The league's top scorer sends his team into the international break with a brace.
On matchday 12 of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga, TSV Hartberg earned a comfortable 3-0 victory over SCR Altach.
The East Styrians got off to a dream start. Diarra chipped the ball into the penalty box, where Gattermayer headed it into the middle on the run. There, Schopp turned the ball into the net alongside Altach defender Jäger to make it 1-0 (3').
Hoffmann gets his reward
Hartberg continued to create the better chances throughout the rest of the first half. Dalpiaz tested keeper Stojanovic in the 19th minute.
In the 35th minute, Hartberg doubled their lead. Lukic beat several Altach players and set up Hoffmann perfectly. The striker, who was celebrating his 23rd birthday, delicately placed the ball into the bottom right corner.
Shortly afterwards, Altach were lucky not to fall further behind, as Lukic hit the crossbar with a header following a corner (41').
Hartberg in total control
Altach were unable to create any clear-cut chances in the second half either. With the lead in hand, Hartberg controlled the match with ease.
Gattermayer (59') and Hoffmann (69') had further opportunities to extend the lead.
Altach came closest to scoring through Hartberg defender Diarra, whose misplaced back-pass was only just dealt with by Pecsi (75').
It was birthday boy Hoffmann who sealed the win. The impressive Dalpiaz played a low cross to Hartberg's reliable goalscorer, who made it 3-0 in the 77th minute.
The result sees Hartberg take a big step towards the Championship Group. Ahead of the evening kick-off, they sit fourth and temporarily claim the title of Styria's number one team. Altach remain ninth with ten points.
